This is a rare opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon to step into a national role built around advanced clinical work, real influence, and strong referral support. Based in Victoria and anchored by VicVet, you will play a key role in delivering high level surgical care while helping shape how complex cases are managed across the Apiam network.
This role is part of a broader shift in how we approach surgery across our clinics. With VicVet as our central referral hub, you will help strengthen internal referral pathways, support clinics to retain more complex cases within the network and build practical surgical capability in a sustainable way.
This is designed for someone who wants more than a single site caseload. It is an opportunity to combine hands on surgery with genuine impact across a large group of clinics.
This is a Victoria based position, with VicVet in Whittlesea as your primary clinical hub. VicVet provides specialist level support, including advanced imaging and CT, and will act as the central base for case workups, surgical planning and continuity of care.
From there, you will work across the Apiam network, supporting clinics through both referral-based case management and targeted in clinic visits. Travel will be structured and purposeful, with a strong connection back to VicVet for imaging, case planning and follow up.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both surgery and developing others, and who values variety in their work.
You will regularly step into different clinic environments, while maintaining a strong clinical base at VicVet.
You are an experienced small animal veterinarian with strong surgical skills and confidence in managing complex cases.
Experience with advanced imaging, particularly CT, will be highly regarded.
This role will suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and making a visible impact across both patient care and the development of others.
Apiam is a national veterinary group with clinics across metro, regional and rural Australia.
Our clinics are supported by collaborative teams, a focus on high clinical standards, and access to referral level facilities including VicVet.
We are committed to helping our veterinarians grow, develop, and do their best work.
If you are looking for a role grounded in Victoria, with the opportunity to work across great teams and help build a stronger, more connected surgical pathway across a national network, we would love to hear from you.
