Multifamily Real Estate Acquisitions Associate
  • St. Louis, MO, US
Job Description

This Is Not a Traditional Real Estate Job

This is an opportunity to get a front row seat to how private real estate investing works -from sourcing and negotiating deals to financing, renovating and operating.

We are not looking for someone with years of real estate experience.

We are looking for someone who is hungry, competitive, curious, comfortable with rejection, and willing to do the work most people avoid.

The ideal candidate may come from:

  • Door-to-door sales
  • Roofing, solar, pest control, security, or home improvement sales
  • Cold calling
  • Car sales
  • Recruiting
  • Fundraising
  • High volume commission sales
  • Any position where you learned how to hear “no” and keep going

You do not need to know how to analyze an apartment building on day one. We can teach you the real estate side. We cannot teach hunger, curiosity, work ethic, confidence, or the ability to handle rejection.

The Opportunity

Missouri Multifamily Holdings is a growing private real estate investment company that acquires, renovates, and operates apartment buildings throughout the St. Louis area.

We find many of our properties directly from owners before they are publicly listed for sale.

As an Acquisitions Associate, you will work directly with ownership to identify properties, contact owners, build relationships and uncover potential sellers.

This is an opportunity to get a front row seat to how private real estate investing works.

You will learn how deals are:

  • Sourced
  • Evaluated
  • Negotiated
  • Financed
  • Renovated
  • Operated

You will not be sitting on the sidelines doing administrative work. You will be directly involved in creating opportunities and helping the company acquire properties.

For the right person, this can become much more than a cold calling position. It can develop into a long term career in acquisitions, dealmaking, real estate investment, and private equity.

What You Will Do

  • Cold call apartment building and investment property owners
  • Start conversations with owners who may not currently have their property listed for sale
  • Ask thoughtful questions and learn each owner’s situation
  • Identify owners who may be interested in selling now or in the future
  • Build relationships through consistent, professional follow-up
  • Research properties, owners, neighborhoods, and potential opportunities
  • Maintain detailed notes and follow-up tasks in our CRM
  • Help collect property information, rents, expenses, and ownership details
  • Schedule meetings and property tours
  • Work directly with ownership to evaluate potential acquisitions
  • Assist with offers, negotiations, due diligence, and transactions
  • Build relationships with brokers, lenders, attorneys, contractors, and other industry professionals
  • Meet weekly goals for calls, conversations, leads, meetings, offers, and signed contracts

Who Will Be Successful

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Are extremely hungry and want to build a career
  • Are comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
  • Have experience in door-to-door or commission-based sales
  • Do not take rejection personally
  • Can hear “no” repeatedly without losing your energy
  • Are naturally curious and ask good questions
  • Enjoy learning how businesses, investments, and deals work
  • Are competitive and motivated by measurable results
  • Can communicate confidently with business owners
  • Are persistent without being annoying or overly aggressive
  • Take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
  • Are organized and disciplined with follow-up
  • Want responsibility, exposure, and growth - not just a paycheck
  • Are excited by the opportunity to learn directly from the owners of a growing investment company

Real Estate Experience Is Not Required

We care more about your sales ability, attitude, curiosity, and work ethic than your resume.

A candidate with two years of door-to-door sales experience who is hungry to learn will likely be a better fit than someone with five years of real estate experience who lacks urgency.

We will teach the right person:

  • Multifamily real estate fundamentals
  • Property research
  • Deal sourcing
  • Preliminary underwriting
  • Seller negotiations
  • Due diligence
  • Financing structures
  • Renovation and business plans
  • How an investment moves from the initial phone call through closing

Compensation and Growth

Compensation will include base pay plus performance based commission and bonuses.

Strong performance will create opportunities to earn more and take on greater responsibility.

The right person can grow into a senior acquisitions role responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing investment opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the private real estate investment business from the inside and is willing to earn their seat at the table.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
