Multi-Skilled/Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Maintenance Technician will also play a key role in supervising junior staff.

This is a shift-based role - 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm. May move to a 3-shift pattern in the future. Flexibility required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical systems.
• Interpret schematics to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and safety inspections.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.
• Provide leadership and supervision to junior maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Identify and control parts and tools.
• Coach other members of the department.
• Work on equipment and facility projects.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 BTEC in an Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in a maintenance role (at least 1 year), ideally working on motors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Proficiency in the maintenance of electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility needed around working hours, shift work, occasional weekend work.

Pay: £18.27-£20.19 per hour
