Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

MODULARZ is seeking an experienced and hands-on MEP Site Engineer / MEP Supervisor to manage and coordinate mechanical, electrical and plumbing works. The successful candidate must be capable of supervising subcontractors, technicians and installation teams while ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, safety standards and the construction programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily electrical, HVAC, plumbing, drainage and related MEP activities.
  • Coordinate MEP works with structural, architectural and modular-building activities.
  • Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements and material submittals before execution.
  • Plan the labour, materials, tools and equipment required for MEP activities.
  • Direct and supervise MEP subcontractors, technicians and workers.
  • Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications and applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate inspection requests with the QA/QC Engineer and client or consultant representatives.
  • Identify technical conflicts and propose practical, compliant site solutions.
  • Monitor progress and ensure activities are completed in accordance with the approved programme.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, manpower records and material status updates.
  • Verify completed quantities and review subcontractor progress.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, final inspections and snag rectification.
  • Maintain testing records, checklists, redline drawings and as-built information.
  • Ensure proper installation of electrical containment, cabling, lighting, power sockets, distribution boards, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure proper installation of HVAC equipment, ductwork, refrigerant piping, condensate drainage and controls.
  • Ensure proper installation of water supply, drainage and sanitary systems.
  • Enforce site safety requirements and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Immediately report any variation, additional work, delay, design change or commercial impact to project management.
  • Support handover, close-out documentation and final completion activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or MEP Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant MEP site experience.
  • Previous experience in building, modular, industrial, oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
  • Qatar experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with major industrial clients will be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and drainage installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, coordinated drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience in inspections, testing, commissioning and project documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination and subcontractor-management skills.
  • Good command of English.
  • Valid Qatar driving license is an advantage.
  • Candidates with a valid Qatar ID and immediate availability will be preferred.

  • Strong in technical coordination, planning and problem-solving.
  • Able to work under demanding construction deadlines.
  • Comfortable supervising labour and subcontractors directly.
  • Organized in inspections, documentation and progress reporting.
