We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of innovative mechanical solutions for modular and mission-critical infrastructure projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges from concept through to manufacturing, assembly, and installation.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including Structural, Electrical, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Project Management, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring designs are technically sound, cost-effective, manufacturable, and compliant with relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs, 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software.
  • Design and optimise mechanical systems and components for modular construction and data centre applications.
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure efficient design-for-manufacture and assembly.
  • Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design verification activities.
  • Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
  • Liaise with suppliers and external stakeholders regarding technical requirements and product development.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, quality procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical support throughout project lifecycles, including commissioning and installation phases where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a mechanical engineering or design engineering capacity.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and mechanical design principles.
  • Experience producing detailed technical documentation and BOMs.
  • Experience in modular construction, off-site manufacturing, data centre infrastructure, or industrial engineering environments is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
