The Mechanic is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of farm machinery, vehicles, and mechanical equipment to ensure uninterrupted dairy farm operations. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical faults, performing repairs, and maintaining equipment in a safe and efficient working condition while complying with company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance on farm machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on tractors, loaders, feed mixers, pumps, generators, compressors, and other farm equipment.
- Repair and maintain dairy farm machinery, including milking equipment and supporting mechanical systems (where applicable).
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
- Replace defective mechanical parts such as bearings, belts, seals, gears, chains, and hydraulic components.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and minor machining work as required.
- Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and cooling systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed according to maintenance schedules.
- Record maintenance work, spare parts usage, and equipment history in maintenance logs or CMMS.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in workshops and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and food safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns during operational hours.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI/Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferably in a dairy farm, food manufacturing, agriculture, or industrial maintenance environment.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage (if applicable).

- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
