As a Business Intelligence Manager, with a Data Science/ML Ops focus, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of advanced analytical solutions supporting the profitable growth strategies of our various P&C insurance portfolios. Known as Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), these solutions are used in marketing, targeting and strategic decisioning to help with decision-making, automate actions in our insurance systems, feed various analytical tools, and monitor our results. You will collaborate with various stakeholder groups within the organization, supporting them in their strategies through the alignment and execution of predictive modeling and data science best practices. You will lead a talented team and contribute to their development while overseeing complex technical projects.

How you will create impact:

  • Develop and manage performing teams by recruiting, training, coaching, assessing, motivating, and supporting.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring the development of the technical aspects of Data Science/ML Ops.
  • Responsible for the quality and effectiveness of outcomes by ensuring that standards and policies are followed, and the intended outcomes of those policies are met (data quality, accuracy, performance, security, etc.).
  • Represent your team in project planning and scrums with business partners.
  • Translate business needs into specific objectives for your team and communicate progress to stakeholders.

To join our team:

  • You have a proven experience (8+ years) in developing and/or implementing Predictive Models and Advanced Analytics solutions.
  • You have an advanced degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent technical experience.
  • You can lead others to solve complex problems through analytical thinking, tools, and judgement to identify innovative solutions.
  • Experience with following technologies is required: SQL and Python
  • Experience with the following technologies is an asset: Spark
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
