Job Description

Contribute creatively to award-winning condominium common area projects from concept through installation as part of an experienced Toronto design studio.

As part of our studio, you will gain exposure to multiple areas of the business and the full lifecycle of projects, from early concepts through design development, documentation, procurement, and installations.

You will work alongside designers, leadership, clients, suppliers, and trades while contributing to projects from the earliest stages of design. Your ideas and design input will be welcomed throughout the project process, from early concepts to final installations.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to interior design concepts and presentations
  • Prepare AutoCAD floor plans, elevations, and details
  • Support preparation of construction documentation using AutoCAD
  • Source furniture, art, finishes, fabrics, lighting, and equipment
  • Prepare furniture selection sheets and presentation boards
  • Assist with furniture budgets and procurement
  • Coordinate with suppliers, trades, and consultants
  • Attend site visits and client meetings
  • Participate in furniture installations and accessory styling

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design
  • 2–5 years experience preferred
  • ARIDO member or Intern working toward membership
  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience within the Toronto condominium industry preferred, particularly related to common area design and refurbishment
  • Hospitality design experience considered an asset

Detailed Responsibilities

Working under the supervision of a Senior or Intermediate Designer, you may contribute to:

  • Developing interior design concepts
  • Producing AutoCAD floor plans, elevations, and details
  • Create renderings and/or collaborate with rendering artists
  • Creating concept presentation materials and boards
  • Sourcing furniture, art, finishes, fabrics, lighting, doors, and equipment
  • Preparing furniture budgets, selection sheets, and presentation materials
  • Participating in furniture installations and styling
  • Assisting with addendums, site reports, meeting notes, and change orders
  • Assisting with PowerPoint presentations
  • Attending site visits and client meetings
  • Ordering samples
  • Maintaining project folders and documentation
  • Assisting with project reconciliation when required
  • Coordinate furniture and art deliveries.

Studio support responsibilities may include greeting visitors, shipping and receiving, organizing supplier presentations, maintaining the sample library, and participating in office functions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
