Job Title: Instrumentation Technician

Location:Qatar

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, repair, test, and troubleshoot a wide range of electronic and instrumentation systems in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate will support day-to-day maintenance operations, preventive maintenance activities, commissioning support, and reporting across critical building and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of instrumentation and electronic control systems
• Review incoming maintenance requests and execute work in line with approved procedures and technical standards
• Support preventive maintenance programs to improve reliability, availability, and operational efficiency
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems, then perform functional testing before reinstating equipment
• Participate in commissioning and snagging activities for new and modified systems
• Review drawings, evaluate systems, and support the preparation of work reports and technical records
• Assist with annual spare parts planning, consumables review, and test equipment requirements
• Inspect delivered materials and spare parts on site and support stock control activities
• Supervise technicians and contractors during maintenance or project work when required
• Ensure safe working practices, permit-to-work compliance, and good housekeeping at all times
• Contribute to daily reports, equipment failure reports, incident reports, and recommendations for recurring issues
• Support modifications, upgrades, plant changes, and testing/commissioning of updated systems
• Assist in maintaining records for work performed, work in progress, timesheets, material usage, and repairs

Requirements

• Completion of secondary education
• At least 3 years apprenticeship training leading to a certificate or diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Computer Applications
• Minimum 6 years of experience in installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of instrumentation and electronic equipment
• Experience in large-scale environments such as Education City, healthcare facilities, or industrial complexes
• Strong working knowledge of PLC, Fire Alarm Systems, BMS Systems, Chiller Controls, and PROFIBUS-based instrumentation
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand technical manuals
• Computer literacy with good knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance procedures
• Familiarity with CAFM systems
• Awareness of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 requirements
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, technicians, and supervisors in a team environment
