Herbal Extraction Plant Supervisor

Role Overview

Won Ayurveda Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Herbal Extraction Plant Supervisor to oversee daily botanical extraction, processing, and raw material refinement operations. In this role, you will lead plant technicians, optimize extraction yields, and enforce strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Ayurvedic quality standards to produce high-purity botanical extracts, tinctures, and powder blends.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations, including botanical raw material prep, solvent/aqueous extraction, percolation, evaporation, and spray-drying processes.
• Supervise, schedule, and train plant operators and processing technicians on equipment operation, extraction parameters, and safety guidelines.
• Enforce strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), hygiene controls, and safety protocols.
• Monitor extraction yields, process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates), and cycle times to optimize batch quality and resource utilization.
• Perform routine batch line clearance checks, manage process documentation, and maintain accurate batch production records (BPRs).
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and maintenance teams to ensure raw material consistency, prevent contamination, and manage equipment maintenance.

Requirements \& Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, or Chemistry.
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in herbal extraction, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, or nutraceutical plant operations.
• Practical understanding of industrial extraction techniques (maceration, Soxhlet, supercritical fluid extraction, distillation) and botanical processing machinery.
• Strong working knowledge of GMP standards, HACCP, industrial safety practices, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, batch documentation, and operational troubleshooting capabilities.
