Your Role in Our Mission

As Head of Risk at FundedNext, you will own the most strategically important function in any prop trading firm: the discipline that protects platform integrity and stabilises the economics that fund every trader’s journey. You will report directly to the FundedNext CEO and become the senior owner of risk decisions across CFD and Futures — and the lead architect of risk infrastructure for the upcoming Crypto programme.

This is not a role where you inherit a fully-built function. You inherit ambition, complex data, and a team that needs senior leadership. Your first 90 days are a diagnostic. From that diagnosis, you build.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Stabilise the Book

  • Reduce payout ratio variance and bring discipline to the firm’s primary health metric across CFD and Futures. Translate trader behaviour data into product-rule decisions that protect long-term sustainability without throttling the trader experience.

Audit, Then Build

  • In your first 90 days, conduct an end-to-end gap analysis of our existing risk framework — surveillance tooling, policies, escalation paths, dealing operations integration. From that diagnostic, design and implement a risk operating model fit for FundedNext’s scale through 2028.

Lead Crypto Risk Readiness

  • Design risk policies, surveillance models, drawdown rules, and operational guardrails for the Crypto programme launching. Crypto carries different volatility, exposure, and abuse patterns than CFD or Futures — your work here defines whether we launch safely.

Hunt Fraud and Abuse

  • Strengthen detection and response to multi-account abuse, identity fraud, and toxic trading patterns. Partner with Engineering, Data, Compliance, and Customer Operations to build a defensible, scalable abuse-prevention capability.

Partner Across the Firm

  • Be the trusted risk voice in product design, dealing operations, engineering, compliance, and analytics. Influence — and where required, veto — decisions that materially shift FundedNext’s risk profile. You will report directly to the CEO and have the authority to escalate independently when material risk events demand it.

What You Bring

  • 8–12 years of risk experience across prop trading, CFD brokerage, or multi-asset financial services.
  • Genuine multi-asset fluency — you understand CFD, Futures, and ideally Crypto economics, instruments, and abuse patterns.
  • A track record of building or rebuilding a risk function — frameworks, policies, surveillance tooling, team.
  • Hands-on credibility on B-book and dealing operations; you have personal exposure to payout ratio management at scale.
  • Strong cross-functional influence — you can hold your own with Product, Engineering, and Trading leaders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity — you can step into an under-defined function and bring clarity quickly.
  • Excellent communication — to traders, to your CEO, to your future board.

Your X-Factor

What sets the strongest candidates apart:

  • You have personal scar tissue from a payout-ratio crisis or major abuse incident — and you can talk about how you turned it around.
  • You speak the language of data and engineering well enough to design surveillance models with quants and ML engineers, even if you don’t write production code yourself.
  • You have led risk policy design for a new asset class launch — ideally Crypto.
  • You think about trader experience and risk economics in the same sentence — not as opposing forces.
  • You see AI and machine learning as the future of risk surveillance and bring opinions about how to deploy them responsibly.
