Head Barista

The Head Barista is responsible for leading the day-to-day coffee operations, ensuring exceptional beverage quality, delivering outstanding customer service, and supporting the development of the café team. This role combines hands-on barista expertise with leadership, training, and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso-based beverages to a consistently high standard.
• Lead, motivate, and support the barista team during daily operations.
• Train and mentor new and existing staff on coffee preparation, customer service, and café standards.
• Monitor coffee quality, extraction, milk texturing, and presentation to maintain consistency.
• Manage stock levels, place orders, and liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily operational checks.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards in line with company policies.
• Schedule staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth service during busy periods.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Work with management to improve menu offerings, increase sales, and enhance the customer experience.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a barista, with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, latte art, and coffee brewing methods.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high quality.
• Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
• Flexible, reliable, and capable of leading by example.

Pay: €17.00-€18.00 per hour
