Graphic \& Motion Designer

A bit of background on Breathe

Located in vibrant Horsham, Breathe isn't your typical SaaS business. Private equity owned, well-funded, with 17,000 customers and an average 6 years’ LTV (a rarity in the SaaS industry), Breathe is the number 1 HR Software for SMEs in the UK. But there is more to it – our work culture is award winning, with talented people that are committed to driving impact, while having fun together. We're proud of our track record of success, but we're even more excited about what the future holds for us.

Alongside Breathe, Rotageek is helping organisations transform workforce management with smarter, more flexible technology. Together, our brands are shaping how businesses support their people and plan for growth.

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. Breathe is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day.

Our Values: What We Live By

Start With People - We remember our work affects real people, so we take the time to listen, understand and act with care.

Own It, Together - We take responsibility for our part, support each other through the messy bits, and focus on fixing things rather than finding blame.

Clear Is Kind - We speak honestly and with care. We don’t avoid difficult conversations, and we make sure people have the clarity they need to move forward.

Why This Role Is SO Important:

We’re looking for a Graphic \& Motion Designer to create high-quality visual work that helps Breathe and Rotageek show up in a compelling and distinctive way across the HR and workforce management SaaS markets. This role is all about bringing our brands to life through standout creative, with a particular focus on motion design and video-led storytelling.

This role sits at the heart of how our brands look, feel and perform. You’ll lead the production of design assets across digital channels, combine strong brand and static design craft with modern creative production, and help build scalable templates and systems that allow the wider business to move faster without compromising quality. You’ll also use AI confidently and responsibly to streamline lower-complexity creative tasks and improve workflow efficiency.

Key Duties \& Responsibilities

Let’s be clear from the start: this isn’t just a design production role. You’ll be a hands-on creative partner, a brand guardian, and a modern maker who understands how to balance speed, quality and commercial impact. You are the visual storyteller, the motion specialist, and the person helping our brands show up brilliantly every day.

Driving Brand and Creative Delivery: Creating high-quality visual assets across digital channels, including paid social, organic social, web, email, presentations, landing pages, sales materials, customer resources, and campaign assets.

Creating Distinctive Static Design: Producing design work that is clear, distinctive, on-brand, and right for the channel and audience.

Supporting Creative Concepts: Contributing to campaign, launch and always-on brand activity through strong creative concept development.

Protecting and Evolving the Brands: Maintaining and evolving visual consistency across Breathe and Rotageek, applying brand standards with judgement rather than rigidity.

Acting as Brand Guardian: Being the in-house visual guardian for the brands and helping colleagues understand and apply internal brand standards.

Refreshing Collateral: Adapting, improving and evolving existing collateral and brand guidelines as business and campaign needs change.

Designing for Performance: Making sure creative work supports wider marketing and business goals, including user experience and conversion.

Leading Motion and Video: Creating motion-led assets that improve brand storytelling, clarity, engagement and performance.

Editing Video Content: Editing and assembling video content for brand, campaign, product, customer and social use.

Creating for Modern Channels: Producing motion graphics, animated explainers, social cutdowns and lightweight video formats suited to platforms like Eurostaffs, YouTube and TikTok.

Prioritising High-Value Motion Work: Identifying where motion and video can have the biggest impact, then prioritising and producing work accordingly.

Supporting Filming and Capture: Supporting filming, content capture and shoot planning where needed.

Building Self-Serve Systems: Creating templates, reusable assets and practical design systems that help internal teams self-serve for simpler creative needs.

Creating Clear Guardrails: Making it easy for non-design colleagues to create simple branded assets safely and efficiently.

Managing Assets and Workflow: Maintaining organised asset libraries, templates and working files, while improving the end-to-end workflow for routine creative production.

Supporting External Resource: Providing feedback and direction on work created by internal and external stakeholders, including freelance designers, and helping manage freelance design support day to day.

Using AI Thoughtfully: Using AI tools confidently and responsibly to support ideation, repurposing, production support, automation and lower-complexity creative tasks.

Staying Ahead of the Curve: Keeping up with developments in motion, video, creative tooling and AI-enabled production, and bringing a test-and-learn mindset to new ways of working.

Collaborating Across the Business: Working closely with colleagues across marketing and other teams to bring briefs to life, ask the right questions, challenge constructively and deliver to deadline.

Key Competencies \& Behaviours

You Start with People: You collaborate well, communicate clearly, and create work that helps colleagues and customers engage with our brands more effectively.

You Own It, Together: You’re proactive, solutions-oriented and happy working independently while partnering closely with others to get great work over the line.

You believe that Clear Is Kind: You can explain creative rationale clearly, give thoughtful feedback, and challenge constructively when a brief needs sharpening.

You’ve got strong creative craft: You bring excellent graphic design fundamentals across layout, hierarchy, typography, colour and composition.

You know motion and video: You have strong motion design and video editing skills and understand how to use them to tell sharper, more engaging stories.

You’ve got sharp brand judgement: You have a strong eye for quality, in-market distinctiveness and in-house consistency.

You design for digital-first channels: You know how to create assets that work natively across modern digital platforms and marketing channels.

You know your tools: You’re confident using Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro, and you know when tools like Canva and template-based platforms are the right fit.

You use AI responsibly: You’re comfortable using AI tools to support design production and workflow efficiency without compromising brand integrity.

You’re organised and adaptable: You can manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and balance responsiveness with quality and strategic judgement.

You bring curiosity and initiative: You’re always looking for better ways to work, keen to experiment, and interested in emerging tools, formats and creative possibilities.

You care about impact: You’re detail-oriented without losing sight of pace, commercial goals and the bigger business picture.
