Job Description

Job Purpose

As the General Sales Manager, you will lead Haworth's sales team to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives. You will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, strengthen customer relationships, and expand Haworth's market presence. This role is also responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships with real estate developers, project management companies, architects, designers, and key industry stakeholders to drive sustainable business growth.

A glimpse of your daily mission

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans, including market segmentation, target setting, and sales forecasting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, architects, designers, and industry influencers to drive sales opportunities and customer loyalty.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and customer needs to expand Haworth's market presence and revenue streams.
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics, pipeline management, and sales activity reports to identify areas for improvement and drive sales effectiveness.
  • Oversee sales operations, including pricing strategies, contract negotiations, order processing, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to support sales initiatives and ensure Haworth's brand positioning remains aligned with global standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Enablement Team to develop and implement training programs, workshops, and resources that enhance the effectiveness and capabilities of the sales team.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to make informed decisions and drive strategic sales initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements in all sales activities and interactions.
  • Develop and expand the dealer network to increase Haworth's market share and strengthen market coverage.
  • Support Haworth’s regional process initiatives, policies, and systems developed by the Asia Pacific Regional Process Management Team, and actively integrate them into local business operations.
  • Leverage regional and global resources to provide marketing, technical and customer service support to customers and end-users.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline. Equivalent qualifications and relevant experience will also be considered. MBA is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of sales leadership experience, preferably within the furniture, workplace design, interior solutions, or other business-to-business sales environments.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving profitable business growth.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute business plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Experience managing functional PL responsibilities is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Vine or similar CRM systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities and implement effective growth strategies.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to attract, develop, motivate, and retain top talent.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
