BOSCO Canada is recognized as a leader in the industry nationwide. Our continued growth has created a need of an in-house dedicated General Bookkeeper/Accountant.

Appointment

This is an immediate start position in our Toronto location (Weston Road / Steeles Ave West). Your direct supervisor will be the General Manager. In general, your duties shall include but not limited to the following and may be modified from time to time by BOSCO at its sole discretion:

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing “QuickBooks” online version, as well as word and excel
  • Set-up new accounts and update client information on our system as required
  • A/R – creating, issuing and filing of invoices daily
  • Tracking Invoices
  • A/P – paying bills
  • Tracking payment
  • Collecting outstanding accounts via telephone calls, emails, mail and logging collection efforts and activities regularly.
  • Logging collection efforts
  • Refer problems accounts to the office manager
  • Respond to client inquiries with respect to invoicing
  • Banking, Data entry of deposits and filing daily deposit reports
  • Preparation, printing and sorting of Statements of Accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and issue AR reports
  • Communicate with firm’s accountant
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Regular maintenance of financial folders for each client
  • Payroll, WSIB and T4 preparation
  • Assist office manager
  • Assisting in inventory tracking
  • Assist in the preparation of shipping lists on a daily basis and distribute to warehouse staff
  • Back-up on reception and greeting clients

Key Skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of QuickBooks online, Google Sheet, Excel; and Word

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping

BOSCO Canada is open 6 days a week, however, your work hours will typically be 9:30am to 6:00pm on Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break.

The first three months of your employment will be a probationary period during which BOSCO will assess your performance and suitability for the position.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is between $35.00 and $40.00 per hour depending on your current level of experience. Overtime will be paid for hours worked after 44 hours per week in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standard Act. As an employee, this payment will be made by company cheque less all statutory deductions. Payment will be made every two (2) weeks. Your performance and salary will be reviewed annually, with any adjustment at BOSCO’s sole discretion.

Vacation

You will be entitled to a payment of 4% of your hourly rate for vacation allowance. Vacation allowance will commence upon the expiry of the probation period and will be paid on your employment anniversary date.

All vacation requests must have prior approval of Management before they can be taken and the time taken during these vacations will not be paid.

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
