Furniture & General Carpenter

the ,,,The Furniture & General Carpenter is responsible for performing carpentry, furniture repair, fabrication, and general maintenance works across facilities. The role includes installation, alteration, and repair of wooden structures, furniture, and related building components while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Carry out repair, maintenance, and alteration of floors, roofs, walls, doors, windows, stairways, and other wooden structures.
• Perform finish carpentry works including mouldings, trims, cabinets, and related finishing tasks.
• Fabricate, assemble, repair, and reinstall furniture such as desks, chairs, tables, cabinets, and stage equipment.
• Operate carpentry tools and machinery including saws, planers, jointers, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Prepare and install formwork for concrete works as required.
• Install drop ceilings and interior wooden partitions when needed.
• Sand, sharpen, maintain, and service hand and bench tools.
• Carry out minor structural and maintenance repairs (windows, doors, roofing, etc.).
• Ensure all work is completed in line with safety procedures and facility standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, tool care, and proper handling of materials.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in carpentry, furniture work, and general maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and equipment operation.
• Experience in fabrication, installation, and repair of furniture and wooden structures.
