We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and customer-focused Restaurant Cashier to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for handling customer billing and payments, operating the POS system, maintaining accurate transaction records, and supporting smooth front-counter operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer billing and payment transactions accurately.
- Operate the restaurant POS system for order entry and billing.
- Receive cash, credit/debit cards, and other approved payment methods.
- Issue receipts and provide correct change to customers.
- Maintain accurate cash and transaction records.
- Perform cash reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Check and report any cash or billing discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Assist customers with billing, menu, and payment-related queries.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth order processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cashier counter.
- Follow company procedures for cash handling, billing, refunds, and cancellations.
- Provide polite and professional customer service.
- Support other restaurant operations when required.
- Follow all company health, safety, hygiene, and workplace procedures.
Requirements
- High School / Intermediate education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cashier, restaurant, retail, or customer-service roles is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of POS and billing systems.
- Good cash-handling and basic mathematical skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work accurately during busy periods.
- Honest, responsible, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
