The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Modeller to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the creation, review, and analysis of financial models, particularly for capital investment projects.

Additionally, the candidate will perform financial analysis of financial statements to support decision-making processes. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance, accounting, economics and advanced financial modelling, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Financial Modelling supports capital investment and strategic decision making through the development, review, and analysis of robust financial models. Working within the Decision Support team, the role contributes to high impact advisory engagements across public and private sector clients, providing clear, evidence based financial insights to senior decision makers.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling

  • Develop complex and robust financial models tailored to capital investment projects.
  • Ensure models are accurate, transparent, and meet project-specific requirements. Incorporate sensitivity and scenario analysis to evaluate financial outcomes under varying assumptions

Model Review \& Assurance

  • Review financial models prepared by others to assess accuracy, logic, and integrity.
  • Challenge assumptions, inputs, and outputs to identify key risks and value drivers. Provide clear recommendations to improve model robustness and decision usefulness.

Capital Investments Appraisal

  • Support the financial evaluation of capital investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to cost benefit analysis, cost effectiveness analysis, ROI, and NPV assessments. Assist in preparing business cases, investment appraisals, and supporting documentation.

Financial Statement Analysis

  • Analyse balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to assess financial performance and sustainability. Identify key financial metrics and trends relevant to investment decision making.

Stakeholder Collaboration \& Communication

  • Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and external advisors.
  • Present financial insights clearly to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders. Support the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management and clients.

Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or professional qualification degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification or progress toward qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial modelling and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience building and working with financial models for investment or business case purposes.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and structured models.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, capital budgeting, and accounting fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, practical insights.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured manner.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with international and cross functional teams.
  • Self motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership over deliverables.
  • Collaborative and team oriented approach to problem solving. Professional judgement and integrity when working with financial data and assumptions.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting capital investment projects in advisory, consulting, or corporate environments.
  • Exposure to public sector or large scale infrastructure investment appraisal.
  • Experience working in offshore or shared service delivery models Certification or advanced training in financial modelling or project appraisal.
