Job Description

Position Title: Financial Accountant

Industry: Residential development, accommodation services \& property management

Location: Western Road, Cork

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Financial Accountant to join our growing property management group. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will support the finance function to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant financials across multiple group entities while developing strong technical, analytical, and commercial skills.

Initially, this role will be central to the successful transition and implementation of financial and accounting services currently performed by professional external service providers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to gain broad exposure across financial operations, payroll, compliance, reporting, and commercial finance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a growing business.

The core responsibilities of this role are:

Financial Governance:

  • Responsible for components of monthly financial reporting for Group entities ensuring consistent accurate and timely results
  • Preparation of financial management reporting packs
  • Delivery of supported balance sheet reconciliations for the Group in line with Financial Policies
  • Supporting the year-end financial reporting process

Financial Operations:

  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting processes
  • Provision of financial data analysis and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Support the Groups cash flow and liquidity management to meet obligations and optimise investment strategies
  • Assist with project feasibility studies, capital investment evaluations, and business expansion proposals

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Assist with VAT, PAYE/PRSI, and general Revenue compliance obligations
  • Support RCT administration and subcontractor compliance requirements
  • Help maintain compliance records and ensure filing deadlines are met
  • Assist payroll administration as required

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and support strategic efficiency changes to optimise ways of working across the Team
  • Support the refinement of internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to protect group assets and ensure integrity
  • Support, collaborate and contribute to other process improvement initiatives across the greater organisation

Qualifications \& Experience:

  • Graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge or understanding of payroll, RCT, VAT, or Irish finance compliance requirements is desirable
