A bit more about the position

The Finance Analyst – provides financial reporting, analysis, and transactional support to the Bostock Brothers business based in Hawke’s Bay. Reporting to the Bostock Brothers Accountant, this role supports the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, assists with tax and GST compliance, and provides cover across accounts payable and receivable functions

Some Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate, timely financial reports in accordance with local reporting timetables.
• Support the Bostock Brothers Accountant with monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and commentary.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Develop and maintain reporting templates and schedules to improve efficiency and consistency
• Assist with the preparation and filing of GST returns in line with Inland Revenue requirements
• Provide cover and support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required
• Process supplier invoices, payment runs, and customer receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with debtor management and supplier queries.
• Support month-end close processes including reconciliation of AP and AR subledgers.

• University degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role.
• Experience with GST and basic tax compliance is a must.
• Exposure to accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes preferred
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with GST and New Zealand tax obligations.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems, experience with MYOB ExoNet would be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools is beneficial.
