Job Title: Part-Time Concrete Estimator

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Construction Estimator specializing in concrete projects to manage our bidding process in Edmonton and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will analyze project specifications, perform digital takeoffs, and build accurate cost estimates for civil, commercial, or residential concrete works. This position offers exceptional scheduling flexibility and is perfect for a freelance estimator, independent contractor, or a semi-retired industry professional looking for consistent, part-time work.

Position Details & Compensation

• Job Type: Part-time
• Expected Hours: 15–20 hours per week (Highly flexible schedule)
• Base Pay: Starting hourly rate is negotiable depending on your concrete estimation experience and software fluency.
• Bonus Structure: Generous performance-based bonuses awarded for successful, winning project bids.
• Work Location: Remote / Hybrid option available for qualified Edmonton-area candidates.

What You Will Do

• Develop comprehensive estimates for concrete projects including foundations, flatwork, formwork, rebar, and finishing.
• Utilize Bluebeam Revu and BI software to prepare detailed cost proposals, digital plan markups, and bid packages.
• Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for concrete volume, materials, labour, equipment rentals, and specialized trade services.
• Collaborate and negotiate with project managers, local Edmonton suppliers, and subcontractors to lock in competitive pricing.
• Perform risk analysis to account for site conditions, concrete pouring protocols , and material cost fluctuations.
• Maintain meticulous records of all submitted estimates, structural assumptions, and supplier quotes.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in construction estimation with a heavy focus on concrete scopes of work.
• Advanced proficiency using Bluebeam Revu for digital plan reviews and digital markups.
• Familiarity with bidding/estimating platforms is highly desirable.
• Local market knowledge of current material costs and labour rates within the Greater Edmonton Area.
• Strong analytical skills to accurately interpret complex structural concrete blueprints, architectural drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Self-motivated worker capable of tracking multiple commercial or residential bids and meeting tight municipal/private submission deadlines.
