English- Somali Interpreter (On-Site) - Urgent Need

Job Overview:

We are seeking skilled on-site English–Somali interpreters to facilitate effective, in-person communication between Somali-speaking individuals and English-speaking counterparts. This role is essential in ensuring clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication across a variety of professional settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person interpretation services for meetings, medical appointments, interviews, educational settings, and community events.
• Accurately interpret spoken communication between English and Somali while preserving meaning, tone, and context.
• Collaborate with professionals including healthcare providers, educators, legal personnel, and social service staff.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with professional ethical standards.
• Demonstrate cultural competency to ensure respectful and effective communication.

Qualifications \& Skills

• Fluency in English and Somali.
• Strong in-person interpretation skills across diverse environments.
• Excellent communication, comprehension, and active listening abilities.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse populations.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
