We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Located in Hammond Park on Irvine Parade, the college opened in 2020 to Year 7 Students. The college buildings include state of the art classrooms, a library, administration and extensive student services area. The college also features specialist facilities for performing and visual arts, science laboratories, food and textiles, design and technology workshops and a gymnasium. The cafeteria is the hub of the central precinct and provides indoor and outdoor seating, landscaped gardens and open spaces. Multipurpose courts and oval were also included in the first stage of the build.

The Role
Suitable applicants will support students with special needs while working collaboratively with class teachers and other support staff. You will ideally be collaborative, team focused and able to support students across a range of special needs. You should be innovative and have strong behaviour management skills, particularly being able to deal with challenging/complex behaviour.
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of planned education programs that will help students achieve success whilst supporting the general health and wellbeing of students.
You should display experience in explicit instruction and have a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning practices. Experience delivering Direct Instruction programs to small groups, including evidence-based literacy intervention programs such as Corrective Reading, will be highly regarded. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of phonological awareness, phonics, and targeted literacy skills to support the implementation of individual and small-group intervention programs for students with diverse learning needs.
