Director, Sales and Marketing
Leadership Opportunity in White Rock, BC
We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to fill our full-time role of Director, of Sales and Marketing at our brand-new senior living community, Bayview Seniors Community, in White Rock, BC.
The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a site-specific direct sales and community outreach plan that drives occupancy and fosters strong relationships within the community. This role oversees the sales team, concierge staff, and marketing initiatives to ensure successful sales conversions and engagement with key stakeholders.
KEY DUTIES
- Ensuring all occupancy targets are met, with the ultimate objective of full occupancy with a waiting list.
In conjunction with the Director of Operations & Director of Care develops an annual sales & marketing plan, including budget and participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of annual residence and departmental directives.
- Implements site-specific elements of the sales & marketing program, and is accountable for proper management of the site-controlled elements of the marketing budget.
- Provides input as to product and services offered, and how these should be changed to meet evolving client demands.
- Provides input annually on occupancy projections, suite rates and resident rate increases.
- Provides input to in terms of sales & marketing policies, advertising direction, media relations, direct mail, sales materials, incentive programs and general corporate marketing direction.
- Coordinates materials management responsibilities within the department including vendor contact, product evaluation, purchasing and inventory control.
- Responsible for completing and submitting all Marketing reports by specified deadlines (including weekly “Accommodation Report”).
- Responsible for monitoring the site competitors and keeping competitor information current and brochures, ads, prices, etc. on file.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintains an awareness of industry trends and activities and their impact upon the site.
- Maintains professional competence and contacts with external colleagues by attending work related conferences and seminars.
- Responsible for tracking all marketing inquiries and follow-up using CRM.
- Responsible for quarterly submission of an idea or article for the corporate newsletter.
- Seek out appropriate community advertising placements and, with the assistance of the corporate Marketing department and/or the corporate ad agency, implement these placements.
- Develop and implement a community outreach plan which may include:
- trade or mall shows
- speaking engagements
- sponsorships
- membership in community organizations
- service or community or volunteer boards
- organization of major community events held at the residence
- use of site by appropriate community groups
- Develop and maintain a site community mailing list including prospects, healthcare professionals, realtors, funeral homes, lawyers, seniors’ centers and groups, appropriate charities and social service agencies, financial planners, churches & other places of worship, local politicians, and other assorted referral groups.
- Encourages residents, staff, healthcare professionals, realtors and others to refer prospective residents. Implements the referral program.
- Responds to all sales & marketing inquiries in a professional, personal and timely manner with the goal of making face-to-face contact with each qualified individual.
- Uses contact management software to create and maintain a structured, systematic, effective and efficient system for managing prospective residents.
- Manages the relationship between the site and the prospective resident and his/her family, while inspiring them to make a timely and appropriate decision based on mutual objectives.
- Facilitates a smooth sales process by ensuring any health assessment requirements are complete, occupancy agreement is correctly completed, and all departments are notified as per specific site procedures. Assist in the assessment of the suitability of each prospective resident with regards to health and lifestyle.
- Facilitates and ensures a smooth transition for new residents by delegating or coordinating move-ins and initiates a smooth transition for the prospective resident by communicating key move-in information to site department managers.
- Participate as a member of the management team in planning to meet residents’ needs and improve resident services. Provides operations with a marketing perspective on resident expectations for services, programs and amenities.
- Supervises Marketing Assistant (where applicable) including hiring, orientation, training, performance review, supervision and direction.
- Educates all site staff as to the vital role they play in marketing the site. Acts as a role model for staff, contributing to the atmosphere and demonstrating the attitude necessary to meet the philosophy, goals and objectives of Bayview Seniors Community.
- Sets up and maintains model suites as required.
- Responds to and handles all resident complaints as they relate to the department.
- Responds to ongoing and routine sales & marketing related requests from residents.
- Maintains a marketing presence with current residents via attendance at resident events (for example wearing costumes, sharing personal talent and skills, etc.)
- Acts as duty manager, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEEducation:
- Completion of secondary education; post-secondary education in marketing, sales, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Background in an industry related to the position, real estate, healthcare or sales.
- Minimum five years of business experience, preferable in retirement and hospitality.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales and marketing within the senior living or related industry.
- Experience in training, scheduling, evaluating, and managing staff.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) and CRM/database management.
- Graphic design and newsletter experience is an asset.
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of sales and marketing strategies, lead generation, and community outreach.
- Ability to develop and execute marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, and digital strategies.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key community influencers and stakeholders.
- Understanding of the senior living industry and the needs of seniors and their families
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
