Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies for procedures
- Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental treatments, including orthodontic procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Epic and Dentrix
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients and answer their questions
- Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns during visits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in compliance with health regulations
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient check-in/out processes, similar to a dental receptionist role
- Educate patients on oral health care and preventive practices
Qualifications
- Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting from an accredited program
- Experience with orthodontics, pediatrics, or CAD tools is advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in related administrative roles is beneficial
