First Baptist Church, Sylva’s After-School Ministry Program – First Explorers

Hiring 2 Part-time counselors

Hiring 1 – Part-time 15-passenger bus driver/counselor

Mid-August 2026 through the end of May 2027

Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Counselor

Monday through Friday, 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM, Bus Driver /Counselor

Counselor Pay $13.25 per hour

The program operates on the Jackson County Public School schedule.

· Provide childcare /supervision for school-age children grades K-6 during after school beginning at 2:30 PM and ending at 5:30 PM.

· Preparing snacks for the students

· Playground supervision

· Homework help if needed

· Maintaining discipline

· Providing/leading rainy-day activities

· Helping to straighten up and clean after-school spaces at the end of the day.

· Working back door pick up.

· Setting a great example for students and co-workers.

The After-School provides fun, friendship, Bible, and enrichment in a safe and nurturing environment. This job works well for the busy college student.

Pay: $13.25 per hour
