Responsibilities
- Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, or educational activities tailored to individual student needs
- Follow first aid protocols and be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies using CPR or AED when necessary
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute age-appropriate programs that align with developmental goals
- Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports to ensure smooth program operations
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or youth programs is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation; willingness to obtain or renew certifications as needed
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle behavioral challenges effectively
- Experience working with children with special needs or in special education settings is a plus
- Ability to engage children through creative activities such as theater, sports coaching, or arts and crafts
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with youth from diverse backgrounds
