Join Ravenhall Correctional Centre as our next Correctional Manager and take on a role where every decision you make supports rehabilitation, reintegration and public safety.
Reporting to our Operations Managers, you will lead safe, efficient day-to-day operations across the Centre, setting the tone on shift, making clear decisions whilst supporting teams through complex situations. You will be responsible for translating Corrections Victoria requirements, GEO Instructions, policies and procedures and relevant legislation into consistent practice. You will coach and empower staff, resolve issues early and drive continuous improvement that supports safety, wellbeing and rehabilitation outcomes.

Key Accountabilities
- Lead and develop people: coach and mentor staff, manage performance, resolve conflict, and build a positive, accountable workplace culture.
- Set the operational standard: provide visible leadership on shift, coordinate unit priorities, and ensure a safe, secure and efficient operating environment.
- Role-model respectful practice: promote appropriate behaviour and professional interactions between staff and the men in our care.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships: communicate regularly and professionally with employees and, where relevant, union delegates.
- Oversee case management quality: coordinate unit case management responsibilities, ensuring notes, reviews, classifications and documentation are accurate and completed on time.
- Manage resources: oversee a cost centre, advise on resource allocation, and support planning for programs, services and security requirements.
- Enable clear communication: maintain effective information flow between staff, senior management and Head Office.
- Contribute to planning and improvement: support short, medium and long-term operations goals and implement agreed initiatives.
- Build capability: provide on-the-job training and development so staff can confidently and efficiently perform their roles.

Key Selection Criteria
- Sound knowledge of people leadership and safety management practices
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a Correctional Management/Supervisory role (or similar middle-management position)
- Ability to negotiate, influence and manage people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds
- Strong report-writing skills and ability to prepare submissions for management
- Proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary operational team in an institutional environment
- Working knowledge of the Corrections Victoria Integrated Offender Management Framework
- Experience working directly with prisoners and managing case management requirements
- Analytical thinking, planning and problem-solving skills in high-pressure operational settings
Preferred Experience
- Experience as a Correctional Supervisor or Correctional Manager or equivalent
- Has been trained in Field Commander or equivalent
- Has been trained in the Management System for Emergencies or equivalent
- Completed Certificate IV in Correctional Practice
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable)

Ravenhall Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia, Ravenhall is Victoria’s largest, medium security prison for adult sentenced and unsentenced males. Our contemporary campus-style design provides a safe and humane environment that enables and nurtures GEOs Continuum of Care operating philosophy.
Ravenhall also has a dedicated Forensic Mental Health Unit and a specialised Closed Supervision Unit for prisoners with significant challenging behaviours.
