About The Role

Help advance research that improves outcomes for young stroke survivors.

We are seeking a motivated Clinical Research Assistant to join the Young Stroke Service Deep Phenotyping Project (YSSDP), an innovative research program focused on understanding the long-term impacts of stroke and improving outcomes for people living with stroke.

Working alongside Professor Vincent Thijs and a multidisciplinary research team, you will support participant recruitment, clinical assessments, biospecimen collection, data management, and study coordination across a range of clinical research projects.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate participant screening, recruitment and consent processes.
• Conduct participant assessments both in person and via telehealth.
• Collect, process and coordinate transport of biological samples including blood, saliva, hair and urine.
• Extract and manage research data from medical records and databases.
• Set up participant monitoring devices and provide education on their use.
• Monitor study databases and maintain accurate research records.
• Assist with adverse event reporting and study documentation.
• Support publications, grant applications, presentations and project communications.

About You

You will bring:

Essential

• Degree in Science, Life Sciences, Health Sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience in clinical research, health research or clinical trial environments.
• Laboratory sample processing experience, including centrifugation and specimen handling.
• Experience working directly with patients or research participants.
• Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and clinical research requirements.
• Excellent organisational, communication and data management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Desirable

• Phlebotomy certification or willingness to obtain training.
• Experience with ethics, governance and regulatory processes.
• Experience working with people affected by stroke or chronic health conditions.
• Experience using REDCap or clinical research databases.
