General Position Description

Cleared American Worker - Electrician –Federal Government Projects

General Responsibilities

Mechanical Installation

• Perform mechanical demolition as required for renovation projects

• Fabricate, install and insulate ductwork

• Layout and install hydronic piping systems

• Layout and install domestic water \& sanitary piping systems

• Install variable air volume (VAV), fan coil unit (FCU) and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems including ceiling cassette layout, piping connections and insulation

• Install split-pack refrigerant systems, including piping, refrigerant charging, and low voltage control connections

• Layout and install chiller and air handling units

• Layout and install fire protection piping and heads

• Test and balance air \& water systems and balance mechanical equipment

• Perform installation of HVAC control systems, pull and terminate low voltage wiring, terminate control devices, and assist in start-up and commissioning of HVAC systems

• Test, troubleshoot, and commission mechanical systems prior to energization

• Understand the use of and safely use various hand and power tools

• Perform installation of RF Shielding \& acoustic (STC) mitigation equipment/materials per ICD/ICS 705, UFC 4-010-05 and “Best Practices Guideline For Architectural Radio Frequency Shielding”

• Assist and work with all other trades on the project site.

• Assist with unloading, handling and hauling of construction materials from shipping containers.

Code \& Regulatory Compliance

• Perform all work in accordance with the International Mechanical Code, Uniform Mechanical \& Plumbing Codes and applicable state and local amendments
• Comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 \& USACE EM-385-1-1 construction safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Adhere to applicable Federal technical specifications (e.g., Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) \& Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC))

Federal Contract Compliance

• Complete required background checks, security clearances, and facility badging processes
• Complete mandatory safety training (e.g., OSHA 30, site-specific orientation, EM 385-1-1 where applicable)

Documentation \& Quality Control

• Assist in completing daily reports, material logs, and labor tracking as required
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings and document field changes as required
• Maintain quality control documentation, including inspection checklists and test reports as required
• Report safety incidents, near-misses, and violations promptly per site protocol

Safety \& Site Conduct

• Wear and maintain required PPE at all times
• Participate in daily/weekly safety briefings and toolbox talks
• Follow site-specific security procedures for Federal facility access
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
• Immediately report changed conditions, code conflicts, or design discrepancies to supervision

Coordination

• Coordinate daily with the Site Superintendent and Quality Control manager
• Communicate with inspectors and Government Quality Assurance representatives during scheduled inspections
• Attend project progress meetings and provide electrical scope status updates as required
• Collaborate with engineers on RFIs related to mechanical \& plumbing design

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling or stretching

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: A bachelor's degree; OR an associate's degree plus 4 years of recent specialized experience; OR a high school diploma plus 8 years of recent specialized experience
• This position requires having and maintaining a U.S. Government Security Clearance. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and possess a security clearance at the Secret level. Failure to maintain the required clearance may result in termination of employment.
• OCONUS construction experience required
• U.S. Federal government project experience required
• Demonstrated experience completing complex construction projects, including the ability to manage varying project conditions such as difficult clients and complex scopes of work
• Extensive knowledge of multiple construction trades for effective trade coordination
• Working knowledge and application of ICD/ICS 705 and UFC 4-010-05
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASME \& NFPA standards, OSHA, and USACE EM 385-1-1 safety requirements
• Exceptional teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in both renovation and new construction projects
• Valid 10-year passport with at least 2 years of remaining validity, or a valid 4-year passport with at least 2 years of remaining validity, preferred
