Job Description
  • SCHADS Award GR4 \= from $93,209 plus super
  • Full time - 38 hrs per week - 8:30 to 5pm

What will you be doing at CatholicCare NT?

The Case Worker supports families with young children, support young children to access early learning and care by connecting Ali Curung families to Child Care.

You will work across both communities:

  • In Tennant Creek (3 days per week): Support children and parenting programs, run group activities, and follow up with families one-on-one.
  • In Ali Curung (2 days per week): Run a baby playgroup, help deliver a Circle of Security parenting group, and connect families with local services.

Your role is to build strong relationships with families, help parents feel confident, and make sure children get the best start in life.

The Case Worker is responsible for improving developmental and wellbeing outcomes for children, increasing participation, enrolment and utilisation of the local childcare centre through engagement, education, advocacy, and family engagement. This position has a particular focus on implementing and facilitating strengths-based case management, mentoring, advocacy, parent education, childcare support and practical assistance.

Here is what we are looking for - is this you?

  • Someone who is good with people and enjoys working with families
  • Strong communication skills to speak with people and write report
  • Understanding of local culture, especially Aboriginal communities
  • Experience working with children, families, or community services (or similar life experience)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel between Tennant Creek and Ali Curung on a weekly basis.
