About the role

At DB Breweries, we're passionate about brewing great beer and keeping our brewery running at its best. We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Waitematā Brewery. This is a shift rotation role, with technicians required to rotate shifts as part of the standard roster.

This is a hands-on role supporting both our brewing and utilities operations, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance across brewing and utilities equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Support the operation, maintenance, and inspection of utility assets across the site
  • Inspect, repair, and rebuild hygienic process valves, actuators, seals, and related brewery equipment.
  • Work closely with operators and maintenance teams to ensure reliable plant performance.
  • Support continuous improvement and best-practice maintenance initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and meets quality, food safety, and environmental standards.
  • Participate in both AM and PM shifts as required.
  • Join the weekly on-call roster once fully trained and competent in brewery and utilities operations.
  • Provide support to the operational maintenance team during critical maintenance activities and brewery shutdowns when required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate or NZCE (Mechanical) – Fitter \& Turner preferred
  • 5+ years' maintenance experience in food, beverage, manufacturing, or FMCG environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, safety-first approach
  • A genuine team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift roster, with technicians required to rotate across shifts as part of normal operations
