About Us
Colt is a specialty coffee café in Muscat dedicated to quality, craft, and great hospitality. We're growing our team and looking for a skilled, enthusiastic Barista to join us.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages (espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, cold brew, etc.) to a consistently high standard
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
- Calibrate espresso shots and adjust grind/dose/extraction as needed for freshness and quality
- Deliver excellent, friendly customer service and build rapport with regular guests
- Educate customers on coffee origins, brewing methods, and Colt's menu
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards at the coffee bar and workstation
- Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; report shortages to the manager
- Handle cash/POS transactions accurately
- Follow food safety and health regulations
- Collaborate with the team to keep service smooth during peak hours
- Assist with light food prep (pastries, sandwiches) as needed
Requirements
- Prior barista experience preferred, ideally in a specialty coffee setting
- Solid understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing/latte art, and brewing methods (V60, AeroPress, etc.)
- Passion for coffee and willingness to keep learning
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic English required; Arabic is a plus
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends/holidays
- Valid Oman residency/work permit or eligibility to obtain one
