Barista

Job Summary

Ruby Cocoa is looking for a passionate, friendly, and hardworking Barista & Cashier to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare high-quality coffee and beverages, provide excellent customer service, handle cashier responsibilities, and help maintain a clean and organized café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, matcha, and other beverages according standards.
• Welcome customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
• Take customer orders accurately and recommend menu items (upselling).
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and digital payments.
• Handle opening and closing cashier procedures.
• Serve chocolates, desserts, cakes, pastries, and light snacks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station, equipment, counters, and customer area.
• Restock ingredients, cups, packaging, and supplies throughout the day.
• Monitor product quality and report low stock or equipment issues.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Work closely with the kitchen and chocolate production team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist with preparing takeaway and delivery orders.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude throughout the shift.

Coffee & Beverage Skills (Required)

The candidate must be able to prepare the following beverages to a high standard:

• Espresso
• Americano
• Cappuccino
• Latte
• Flat White
• Cortado
• Macchiato
• Mocha
• Spanish Latte
• V60 Pour Over
• Cold Brew
• Matcha (Hot & Iced)
• Matcha Latte
• Filter Coffee
• Iced Coffee Beverages
• Other specialty coffee and café beverages as required.

The candidate should also be able to:

• Adjust grinder settings and calibrate espresso extraction.
• Steam and texture milk correctly.
• Perform basic latte art.
• Maintain and clean the espresso machine and grinder.
• Follow drink recipes to ensure consistency and quality.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Barista.
• Previous cashier experience is preferred.
• Experience using a POS system.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic English is required (Arabic is an advantage).
• Honest, punctual, reliable, and well-groomed.
• Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
