Job Description
Urban Sound Studio is looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented Audio Technician to support audio recording, live sound, studio sessions, and production activities. The successful candidate will set up and operate audio equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure high-quality sound throughout each project.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain microphones, mixers, speakers, amplifiers, and recording equipment.
- Configure audio systems for studio sessions, rehearsals, events, and productions.
- Monitor sound levels and ensure consistent audio quality.
- Assist with recording, mixing, editing, and playback operations.
- Perform sound checks and troubleshoot audio equipment issues.
- Connect and manage cables, signal processors, and other audio components.
- Maintain and organize studio and audio equipment.
- Identify faulty equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Support producers, engineers, performers, and production teams during sessions.
- Maintain accurate equipment inventories and technical records.
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling electrical and audio equipment.
- Stay updated on audio technology, software, and production techniques.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, Electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as an Audio Technician, Sound Technician, Studio Technician, or similar role.
- Good knowledge of microphones, mixing consoles, speakers, amplifiers, and signal flow.
- Familiarity with digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or similar software.
- Basic understanding of audio recording, mixing, and editing.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and sound-quality awareness.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
