Skills and Competencies
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commercial lending or credit risk, with deep hands-on expertise in credit underwriting, loan origination solutions and/or processes
- Prior experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting and/or client advisory capacity within financial services and/or enterprise software solution sales is highly desirable
- Good understanding of software architecture, AI/ML concepts, SaaS delivery models, and enterprise systems integration, with proven ability to apply this knowledge in complex pre-sales engagements, solution design, and client-facing technical discussions
- Exceptional ability to translate complex underwriting processes, risk methodologies, and technology concepts into clear, outcome-oriented narratives that resonate with both business and technical audiences
- Proven confidence engaging with senior and executive-level stakeholders — including Chief Credit Officers, Chief Risk Officers, Heads of Lending and technology leaders — with the presence and credibility to influence at the highest levels
- Strategic and analytical mindset, with the commercial acumen to identify client needs, shape compelling solutions and support the advancement of complex pre-sales cycles
- Excellent communicator and collaborative team player who builds stakeholder trust, thrives in fast-paced sales environments and takes proactive, end-to-end ownership with minimal supervision
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Responsibilities
The Solution Specialist works in close partnership with Sales to architect, position, and demonstrate Moody's full suite of Lending solutions — enabling financial institutions to modernize the end-to-end credit lifecycle across borrower acquisition, origination, underwriting, credit-decisioning, and ongoing portfolio risk monitoring.
This is a pre-sales role which demands a rare blend of deep commercial-lending expertise and advanced analytical capability, leveraging Moody's data assets, workflow solutions, and GenAI/agentic capabilities to sharpen credit risk assessment, elevate decision quality, and compress time-to-decision for clients operating in increasingly complex credit environments.
Beyond client-facing engagement, the role requires sustained collaboration across Sales, Product, and Delivery teams — combining technical fluency, commercial acumen, and executive-level stakeholder management to navigate complex pre-sales cycles and consistently deliver outcomes that drive client success and commercial momentum.
- Lead the end-to-end pre-sales process in close partnership with Sales and internal stakeholders — from opportunity qualification and discovery through to solution design and proof of value
- Conduct structured discovery and in-depth analysis of client workflows, surfacing pain points and translating complex business challenges into clearly defined requirements
- Develop a deep technical expertise of Moody's Lending portfolio to map solutions precisely to client needs, articulating how each capability addresses specific business needs and challenges in commercial lending
- Drive compelling, outcome-led engagements through tailored solution demonstrations, proof of concepts, trial evaluations, and data-driven analyses that quantify and communicate solution value
- Design and architect bespoke client solutions that draw on Moody's data assets, workflow solutions and GenAI/Agentic capabilities, ensuring alignment with client technical environments and business objectives.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Moody's product architecture, integration patterns, and cross-portfolio capabilities through close collaboration with product and technical teams
- Serve as a trusted liaison between clients and Moody's product teams, channelling structured client feedback and market intelligence to inform product enhancements and roadmap prioritization
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% as required

The Solution Specialist team sits within the Sales organization and operates as a pre-sales function that partners closely with field sales teams to drive successful client engagement and deal execution. Solution Specialists act as domain and solution experts, bringing deep industry knowledge, technical expertise, and consultative insight to articulate the value of Moody’s solutions across the full client lifecycle.
