About the role
Pullman Kuching is seeking an Assistant Outlet Manager for our Chinese Restaurant, Nu Er Hong. This is a full-time position based in Kuching, Sarawak, offering an exciting opportunity to develop your management skills within the hospitality and tourism sector. In this role, you will provide crucial support to the Outlet Manager whilst overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service standards, and maintaining a vibrant dining experience for our guests. You will play a key part in the success of our Chinese restaurant, working to drive operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Outlet Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring smooth functioning of all service periods
- Supervise and manage restaurant staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service standards in line with Pullman's hospitality excellence expectations
- Maintain and enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards across the restaurant facility
- Monitor inventory management, stock levels, and ordering of food and beverage supplies
- Handle guest relations and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Manage table reservations and optimise seating arrangements for service efficiency
- Assist with financial management duties, including point-of-sale operations and revenue monitoring
- Support the implementation of restaurant promotions and special events
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant environment and service areas
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role within a hospitality setting
- Proven experience working in or managing a Chinese restaurant or Asian dining establishment
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with the capacity to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu knowledge, and service standards
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and restaurant management software
- Strong organisational and multitasking capabilities to manage a busy dining environment
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, or Malay are advantageous
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
- Food safety and hygiene certification or willingness to obtain one
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
