Overview: CHENEGA MISSION OPERATIONS, LLC Goodfellow AFB, TX
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD
The Architect shall support the 17th Civil Engineering Squadron in providing technical advisory and assistance services for support in Facility Sustainment, Restoration \& Modernization (FSRM), MILCON (Military Construction), Defense Economic(DEAAG) and Non-Appropriated (NAF) programs. This position is responsible for architectural design, project planning, construction support, and compliance with federal, Air Force, and industry standards for facilities and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities: * Develop architectural designs, drawings, layouts, and specifications. * Prepare plans, specifications, Statement of Work (SoW) or Objectives (SoO), estimating, project package development * Serve as construction representatives, coordinating work with Contractors' personnel and base representatives to ensure timely and satisfactory accomplishment. * Supervision of construction for compliance and the contract documents. * Provide assistance on all types of contract programming, facility design and construction projects. * Ensure that all construction inspection is accomplished in accordance with governing plans, specifications and in accordance with the terms of the contract. * Assist in design and construction-related services but are not connected with a specific construction project. * Conduct site investigations, survey, and develop design criteria. * Perform building code research and regulatory compliance checks. * Support full project lifecycle including planning and construction oversight. * Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from a NAAB accredited institution in Architecture * Possess and maintain a Registered Architect (RA) license from any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico * Experience may be considered in lieu of RA license * Minimum ten (10) years architecture/design experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Experience with CAD systems to prepare drawings, layouts and design specifications, applying project management principles, methods, and tools to resolve architectural problems, and applying architectural design, construction, and improvement to buildings. * Knowledge in specification and cost estimating tools. * Experience with Secure Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) or facilities with major telecommunication system upgrades Preferred * Experience with performing tasks related to design including code research and interpretation Preferred * Experience with federal or military projects Preferred * Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. * Knowledge of Air Force (AF) organizational structures, functions and procedures, as well as command relationships and responsibilities. * Abilit to interact with all DoD and non-DoD personnel in a respectful, cooperative, and professional manner * Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC). * Familiarity with Americans w/ Disabilities Act (ABA)/Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Preferred
