Job Description

API and Integration Architect

Responsibilities

  • Design and define integration architectures for complex enterprise environments.
  • Establish integration standards, governance models, and technical guidelines across platforms and teams.
  • Define and promote best practices for APIs, integration patterns, and modern integration strategies.
  • Lead the specification of complex application integrations, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Present and defend architectural decisions and integration strategies to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and enterprise transformation programs.
  • Analyze existing integration landscapes and identify opportunities for optimization and modernization.
  • Support the adoption of new integration technologies, platforms, and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.
  • Participate actively in Agile environments and strategic delivery initiatives.
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement processes.

Skills

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Integration Architecture, API Management, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of integration platforms, integration patterns, and API-led architectures.
  • Experience defining integration governance models, standards, and architectural guidelines.
  • Experience designing and documenting complex integration solutions.
  • Ability to communicate and present technical solutions to different stakeholder profiles.
  • Experience working on strategic and enterprise-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of Energy \& Utilities market and GDPR regulations is valued.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence is valued.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in global environments.
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken.
  • Portuguese and Spanish are valued.
