Job Description

  • Daily Plant Operation: Operate and monitor pumps, blowers, stirrers, and filtration systems to ensure smooth wastewater treatment cycles.
  • Chemical Preparation \& Dosing: Prepare chemical solutions (such as coagulants, flocculants, and pH adjusters) and monitor dosing levels based on influent quality.
  • Water Sampling \& Testing: Conduct regular on-site testing (e.g., pH, Turbidity, DO, and settleability tests) and collect samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic preventive maintenance on WWTP equipment, including cleaning sensors, clearing pump blockages, and lubricating mechanical parts.
  • Scheduled Waste \& Sludge Handling: Operate sludge dewatering equipment (e.g., Filter Press or Centrifuge) and manage the proper packaging, labeling, storage, and inventory of scheduled waste (e-scheduled waste system) in compliance with DOE regulations.
  • Logbook Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date log sheets, recording daily readings, chemical consumption, and any operational abnormalities.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and report any technical faults or process deviations to the supervisor and assist in corrective actions to prevent discharge violations.
  • Housekeeping \& Safety: Maintain the cleanliness (5S) of the WWTP area and strictly follow safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals and machinery.
  • General Duties: Any other duties assigned by the Management as and when deemed necessary.

Job Requirements
1. Education

  • Minimum SPM, STPM, or Certificate/Diploma in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2. Professional Certification
  • Possession of a CePSWaM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) certification is a significant advantage / highly preferred.

  • 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing plant or wastewater treatment facility is preferred.
  • Direct experience in handling scheduled waste management and storage regulations is an asset.
  • Process Knowledge: Basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes (physical, chemical, or biological) and awareness of DOE/JAS regulations.
  • Tools Handling: Ability to use basic testing tools (pH meters, jar test kits) and handle mechanical hand tools for minor repairs.
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of working in an industrial environment, handling chemical drums, and performing manual tasks on the plant floor.
  • Soft Skills: Disciplined, detail-oriented in recording data, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Shift Work: Willingness to work on shifts or overtime when required to support production needs.

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
