We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The role involves fabricating, welding, and assembling metal structures and components according to technical drawings and specifications. You will work on a range of projects including structural steel, machinery, piping, and general metal fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components
- Perform welding using MIG, TIG, stick, and/or flux-core processes
- Fabricate and repair structural steel and metal components
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met
- Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, saws, presses, and drills
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Follow workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures at all times
- Work effectively as part of a team or independently on assigned tasks
Required Skills \& Experience
- Trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or Engineering (preferred but not essential depending on experience)
- Proven experience in welding and metal fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong welding skills with attention to detail and quality
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials
- Commitment to safety practices in workshop and site environments
- Good physical fitness and ability to handle manual tasks
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in structural steel, mining, or heavy industry environments
- Ability to work with stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel
- Forklift licence or other relevant tickets (EWP, confined space, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
Work Conditions
- Workshop and/or site-based work
- May involve working at heights, confined spaces, or outdoor environments
- Overtime and shift work may be required depending on workload
- Use of PPE is mandatory at all times
Pay: $43.00 – $45.00 per hour
