Overview
We are seeking a talented and innovative Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in digital and graphic design, combined with front-end development skills to create engaging, user-friendly websites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from website redesigns to new digital platforms, ensuring optimal user experience and visual appeal. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing visually compelling websites that are responsive, accessible, and aligned with brand objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative website designs using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD) and wireframing software like Balsamiq and Axure.
  • Create engaging user interfaces (UI) with a focus on usability and user experience (UX), ensuring websites are intuitive and accessible across all devices.
  • Write clean, efficient HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP code to build responsive websites that adhere to current web standards.
  • Utilise frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, Angular, Vue.js, and Node.js to enhance website functionality and interactivity.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve overall site performance.
  • Maintain existing websites through regular updates, optimisation for SEO using Google Analytics and other tools, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Collaborate with content creators and developers to ensure seamless integration of content management systems like WordPress or Drupal.
  • Implement data analysis techniques using SQL or MySQL to monitor website performance metrics and inform future design improvements.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in web design, UX/UI principles, and emerging technologies such as AJAX, Redux, SCSS/SASS, and VHDL.

Experience

  • Proven experience in digital design with a strong portfolio showcasing website projects.
  • Proficiency in front-end development languages including HTML5, CSS3 (with preprocessors like SCSS or Less), JavaScript (including frameworks such as React or Angular), and PHP.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Figma, InVision, Visio, Axure, Balsamiq, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Acrobat for designing prototypes and visual assets.
  • Experience working with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal.
  • Familiarity with responsive web design principles ensuring optimal display across devices.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices combined with experience using Google Analytics for data-driven decision making.
  • Understanding of usability testing methods and information architecture for creating intuitive digital experiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams including developers, content strategists, and marketing professionals. Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
