Duties
- Perform thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
- Use hand tools and power tools to repair or replace faulty components efficiently
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Diagnose complex mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
- Lift heavy vehicle parts safely using proper techniques and equipment to prevent injury
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work orders
Qualifications
- Solid mechanical knowledge with a passion for automotive technology and repair processes
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a vehicle maintenance setting
- Ability to lift heavy parts or equipment regularly as part of daily duties
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately
- Prior experience in a vehicle repair shop or dealership is preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license; relevant certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) are a plus
