Truck Drivers, Class 2 and Class 5

GOGNA TRANSPORT LIMITED is looking for 3x reliable and flexible Class 2 and Class 5 Truck Drivers to join our Auckland-based transport business.

• Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
• Pay rate: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on licence class, skills and experience

About the role

The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating Class 2 and/or Class 5 trucks to transport goods and freight across Auckland and other parts of New Zealand. As routes may cover different regions, drivers must be flexible and may be required to stay away from home overnight when needed.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Loading, transporting and delivering goods safely and on time.
• Driving Class 2 and/or Class 5 trucks on local and long-distance routes.
• Checking delivery documents, schedules and instructions before starting each run.
• Manoeuvring trucks safely into position for loading and unloading.
• Assisting with loading and unloading goods where required.
• Ensuring goods are properly secured, covered and protected from damage during transport.
• Carrying out basic vehicle safety checks before and after trips.
• Checking tyres, fuel, oil, water, lights, brakes and other basic vehicle requirements.
• Reporting any vehicle faults, damage, delays, incidents or safety concerns to the employer.
• Following all road safety rules, transport regulations and company procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of trips, deliveries, fuel use, logbooks and other required documents.
• Communicating professionally with customers, dispatch staff, suppliers and other team members.
• Keeping the truck clean, tidy and in good working condition.
• Complying with health and safety requirements at all times.

Minimum requirements

• No formal qualification or experience is required.
• Previous experience in freight, road transport, delivery driving or long-distance driving would be an advantage.
• Applicants must hold a valid driver licence suitable for the truck class they will drive, Class 2 and/or Class 5.
• Applicants must be able to drive safely and follow New Zealand road rules and transport requirements.
• Applicants must be reliable, punctual and physically fit enough to carry out truck driving duties.
• Applicants must be flexible with work hours, routes and overnight travel where required.
• A clean driving record

Please note work may require early starts, late finishes, weekends, public holidays and overnight trips depending on delivery schedules and business needs.

The role is based in Auckland, but drivers may be required to travel throughout New Zealand as part of their normal duties.
