Purpose of the job
The Toolmaker maintains and repairs all moulds in a high-volume injection moulding manufacturing facility. In addition, the Toolmaker has responsibility for the manufacture and repair of jigs and fixtures and spare parts for injection moulds.
Key responsibilities
Area of responsibility 1:
Repair and maintain all high-precision moulds, to include multi-cavity moulds, Hot Runner moulds; Valve-gated moulds; Stack moulds
Area of responsibility 2:
Compile standard specifications/procedures/records for each mould and monitor all existing moulds to standard specifications
Area of responsibility 3:
Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
Area of responsibility 4:
Support initial Tool trials and validations, etc.
Area of responsibility 5:
Carry out Tool builds and support tool changes where required
Area of responsibility 6:
Identify and generate opportunities for improvement and actively participate in the implementation of corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives
Area of responsibility 7:
Work with Production and Engineering teams in troubleshooting mould problems
Area of responsibility 8:
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including quality requirements, financial controls, health and safety regulations, etc
