Job Description

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term position preferably based in Christchurch or Dunedin. However, we will consider applications from candidates based in other locations for the right person.

As the delivery partner for nationally significant programmes including TBfree, Mycoplasma bovis and NAIT, we work closely with industry and government to deliver real outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role:

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Testing Coordinator, Programme Support to join our Operations team.

Reporting to the Head of On Farm Services, you will provide essential administrative, logistical and coordination support to our TB Testing function. Acting as a central point of contact for the South Island team, you’ll help ensure the smooth delivery of on-farm testing programmes in the South Island, contributing to the ongoing success of OSPRI’s disease management programmes.

Working closely with Field Technicians, Team Leaders and stakeholders across the business, you'll provide the coordination and operational support that enables the successful delivery of OSPRI's TB Testing programme across New Zealand.

What success looks like in this role:

  • Providing reliable administrative and coordination support to the Head of On-Farm Services and wider Testing team
  • Managing tuberculin, PPE and Equipment ordering, maintenance and distribution.
  • Managing day-to-day courier logistics and tracking
  • Coordinating programme activities and provide support as required.
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly reports and programme information
  • Coordinating meetings, agendas, minutes and action tracking
  • Processing team purchase orders, invoices and supporting financial administration
  • Building strong working relationships with operational teams and stakeholders
  • Supporting improvements to systems, processes and ways of working
  • Contributing to internal communications and information sharing across the team
  • Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and operational excellence

You are an organised and adaptable coordinator who enjoys supporting busy teams and keeping multiple moving parts on track. You have excellent attention to detail, strong administrative capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with people across different locations and functions. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively, and are always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in an administration, coordination or support role
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships across a diverse stakeholder group
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to seeing tasks through to completion
  • Experience working with reporting, tracking and administrative systems
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce would be highly desirable
  • Experience in the agricultural sector would be advantageous but is not essential
