Test Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. You'll work closely with developers, product managers, and manual QA to embed testing early and continuously throughout the development lifecycle.

This role is tool/language-agnostic by design — we value strong testing fundamentals and adaptability over expertise in any single framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and define test strategies
• Identify, document, and track defects; work with engineering teams to resolve them
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
• Perform API, UI, and (where applicable) performance/load testing
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate quality risks to stakeholders
• Maintain and improve test coverage as the product evolves
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, or practices to improve testing efficiency
• Participate in code reviews and sprint planning from a quality perspective

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in test automation or QA engineering
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#)
• Experience with at least one test automation framework/tool (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Robot Framework)
• Understanding of testing methodologies (functional, regression, smoke, integration, end-to-end)
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI)
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in using commercial software tools such as HP Unified Functional Test / Quick Test Professional and Kryon RPA
• Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling)
• Exposure to BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow)
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with mobile test automation (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest)
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Xray)
• ISTQB certification or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
