We are seeking a full-time Technical Sales Representative to join our South Australian team. This role is suitable for a sales professional with experience in technical product sales, automotive products, trailers, machinery, transport equipment, or other technical goods and services.

About the Role

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for providing technical product advice to customers, assessing customer requirements, recommending suitable trailer and towing solutions, preparing quotations, managing sales enquiries and coordinating with internal teams to ensure customer orders are delivered accurately and efficiently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities with trade, commercial, agricultural, construction, landscaping, automotive and other business customers.
• Communicate with customers to understand their intended trailer use, load requirements, towing needs, vehicle suitability and customisation requirements.
• Recommend suitable trailer products, specifications and options based on customer needs.
• Explain technical product features including trailer size, load capacity, axle configuration, braking systems, suspension, ramps, cages, hydraulic tipping functions, galvanized construction and other trailer options.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate sales terms and finalise customer orders.
• Maintain strong product knowledge of trailer types, towing solutions, market demand and competitor products.
• Liaise with workshop, manufacturing, administration and delivery teams regarding customer specifications, custom trailer builds, order progress and delivery arrangements.
• Follow up with customers before and after purchase to ensure customer satisfaction and assist with product or service enquiries.
• Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, sales reports and order documentation.
• Report to management on sales performance, customer feedback, market trends and product opportunities.

Skills and Experience Required

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in technical sales, product sales, manufacturing product sales or a related field.
• Ability to understand and explain technical product information to customers.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
• Ability to assess customer needs and recommend suitable product solutions.
• Ability to prepare quotes, follow up enquiries and maintain accurate sales records.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate customer requirements with internal teams.
• Knowledge of trailers, towing equipment, automotive products, machinery, industrial equipment or similar technical products will be highly regarded.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential where the applicant has relevant experience.
• Current driver licence preferred.
