Teaching Assistant & After School Care

Sunrise Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for two part-time positions for the 2026–2027 school year:

• Kindergarten Assistant/Kindergarten After School Care Provider

• Grades After School Provider

Founded in 1980, Sunrise Waldorf School is situated on a stunning seven-acre campus in the Cowichan Valley near Duncan, BC. As a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education, Sunrise is dedicated to educating and inspiring students to reach their full potential through a rich, artistic Waldorf curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have training in educational assisting and/or behaviour intervention, current First Aid certification, and experience working with children under nine years of age. We are seeking a caring, kind, and dynamic individual with strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to manage safety, plan activities, track attendance, and communicate effectively with families.

The successful candidate will be able to support students with a wide range of abilities while maintaining composure, flexibility, and self-awareness in a busy environment. Knowledge of and experience with trauma-informed and neuro-affirming care Waldorf education is an asset. The ability to bring engaging activities rooted in storytelling, movement, arts, and music to the children is highly desirable.
