Sushi Chef

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with a particular focus on Japanese cuisine. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic sushi dishes in a vibrant restaurant environment, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and serving sushi with precision and creativity, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese delicacies
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in accordance with food safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station and kitchen area
• Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi creations and presentation techniques
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during food preparation and service
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent customer service
• Educate team members on sushi preparation techniques and uphold quality standards

Experience

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a professional kitchen environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety protocols
• Experience working in a restaurant setting with a focus on Japanese cuisine is highly desirable
• Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety regulations, and serving procedures
• Previous experience in a culinary or hospitality environment demonstrating attention to detail and teamwork skills

Pay: £12.71-£14.05 per hour
